Although the day started cool and overcast, it quickly brightened to a beautiful Spring morning.
Only a team of three this month, Richard, Peter and Paul. The weather had been dry for some time so we were able to access a stile some distance from Potmans Lane. The last section was still very wet and the trailer sank in to its axle. The old stile and the surrounding fencing were in poor condition and soon removed leaving us free space to work.
The holes for the new stile did not prove too difficult and we pre-erected the stile and dog gate and dropped it into place before having a coffee break.
Richard then dug the holes for the steps whilst Peter and Paul worked to make good the surrounding fencing including new sheep netting. This part takes more time than the stile itself.
The finished result looked very good so all that remained was to drag the trailer back out of the mud and load up the tools.
We were too busy working to remember to take photos as the job progressed. Think we need a full time journalist/photographer on the team!
