Not all work is carried out in our work sessions. Some of our volunteers spend time doing minor repair work and clearing of overgrown footpaths between sessions.
Some stiles are very hard to access in a vehicle other than a tractor. If only minor repair work is needed then it is easier to carry the parts and tools whilst out walking. In this case Richard went out with his niece Georgia to replace a step on a stile nearly a mile from the nearest road.
Clearing of overgrown stiles is also an issue and in the following series of pictures we can see how Keith has improved access to a number of stiles around the Summerhill area.
