8th March- Finger Post replacement

Loaded up and ready to go

Loaded up and ready to go

A small team of Richard and Paul planned to install some replacement finger posts, the morning started dry but overcast.

First a replacement Bridleway finger post was installed near Milwich Post Office and then a new footpath finger post further up the road by Callaway Farm. Here we were offered a brew which was extremely kind of them; however the weather was deteriorating so we felt we must push on.

The third post was done opposite Highfields Farm, all in record time due to easy digging conditions.

It was then on to Potmans Lane near Brick Kiln Pits. By now it was drizzling quite a bit so waterproofs were donned. Once this one was complete, we only had one post left on the trailer but the rain was getting worse. As the Green Man was not yet open we headed off to the B5027 near Spon Drumble to install a double finger post to replace one that had been badly flailed.

The rain came on heavier whilst doing this job but we completed it before heading home to unload all the old posts and head to the pub as the door opened. The warm fire was most welcoming and we dried out in front of it.
