4th June – All Saints Church

Another glorious morning and the team met at the All Saints Church to tackle the replacement of  nearby stiles. We welcomed Jeff Dix for his first session and Neil made an impressive return from injury.

As can be seen from the the before and after pictures the route was badly overgrown and stiles rotten. Two stiles were completely replaced on either side of the bridge and additional fencing rails introduced.

12 o’clock approached and thoughts turned to a welcome alcoholic beverage, but some bright spark suggested that we “quickly” repair a third stile close by. What started as a simple repair, turned into complete replacement of the stile, digging into very hard and stoney ground. The team worked on tirelessly and eventually left the site 1hr later and dragged themselves to the Green Man.

Phil who was unable to join us for the hard graft, kindly graced us with his presence. Unfortunately he was to late to buy a round, but then his timing has always been impeccable!

If anyone would like to join us for the next fun packed morning on the 10th July, please email mac@milwich.com.
