Milwich & District Produce Guild
Our July meeting was a visit to Idlerocks Farm at Spot Acre, where we all enjoyed the garden and shrubbery, filled with interesting plants After our explorations, we all went indoors to enjoy tea, coffee and beautiful cakes, supplied by our hostess, Mrs Barbara Dixon.
In August, our speaker was unable to attend, so we had an informal meeting, consisting of early tea, coffee and biscuits, and a good gossip and lots of jokes and laughter. It turned out to be a most enjoyable evening.
The October meeting will be the Annual General with cheese and wine. If anyone feels able to join the committee, please let us know. The date is October 24th at 8pm.
Our meetings are usually held at the Village Hall on the fourth Thursday of the month, beginning at 8pm. For further information, please contact Mike Baggaley on 01889 270161 or m_baggaley@btinternet.com
Green Lea Nursery and wraparound care
Firstly, I would like to welcome everybody back after the summer break; I hope everyone had an enjoyable time. All the staff at Green Lea Nursery would like to say a big thank you for all the gifts and cards we received at the end of last term, they were so beautiful and very much appreciated.
The staff have been working hard over summer to make lots of changes to the school set up, and as most of you are now aware we have moved classes for the time being, we are now operating alongside the reception class. It’s very early days, but we are definitely benefiting from having the experience and knowledge of Mrs Masters, a qualified teacher. It has also been lovely for us to see how our “old” nursery children have settled in and what they are all up to in their new class, and I have to say they are doing us proud. We now use the middle doors to gain entry, there is a door bell at this door for nursery and Green Lea wraparound care, can I please politely ask if you have any other business, or are a visitor to the school you use the main reception entrance where the office manager will be happy to help.
All the nursery children will still be doing forest schools on a Friday morning, and now the weather is becoming colder it is very important that all the children have warm clothing and wellies, waterproofs preferable if you have them. Miss Swingewood has lots of exciting things planned for our forest school lessons.
Our plans are well under way for our pantomime trip and our nativity, as well as our Christmas party, so watch this space for more information.
Green Lea Nursery offers the 30 hours funding (subject to criteria) we are also signed up to the tax free child care scheme. Please see a member of staff for more information.
Green Lea Nursery runs Monday-Friday, sessions are 9.00am-1.30pm or 9.00am-3.00pm. Green Lea wraparound care sessions are 7.30am-9.00am and/or 3.00pm-5.45pm (term time only). For any further information please contact 01889 505309.
