The members of Milwich PCC would sincerely like to thank all those people who supported the recent Churchyard working party. There was a good turnout and it was a case of “Many hands making light work”. Much was achieved during the day, at the end of which the improvement was clear for all to see.

Milwich & District Produce Guild
On August 24th, we welcomed Mrs. Margaret Bullock who gave us a very interesting talk, with slides, on The National Memorial Arboretum. The area has changed quite a lot since our visit a few years ago.
On September 2nd, we held our 30th, and last Annual Show. It was very well supported by exhibitors and visitors alike. 68 Adults, and 8 children entered a total of 475 exhibits. There were more than 200 visitors in the afternoon, come to admire the entries, and enjoy an afternoon tea and cakes in the tea room.
As it was our last show, many of the trophies were presented by the original donors, or family members. Of particular mention were the trophies donated by the Guild’s former chairman and founder member, the late Mr. John Babb, proudly presented by his daughter, Julie Henderson.
Altogether a very successful last show which will leave us with fond memories in years to come.
October 26th is our AGM/ Finger Buffet evening.
Our meetings are usually held on the fourth Thursday of the month at The Village Hall, Milwich, beginning at 8pm. Visitors always welcome.

Milwich W I, 2017 13th September 2017
Maggie Palmer was welcomed to Milwich W I along with her partner Barry, who came to help display her work. Maggie has always enjoyed craft and in the 1990’s began a quilting course, her enthusiasm for quilting remains to the present day. She brought with her probably at least twenty samples of her work, ranging from king sized quilts, single quilts, mats, bags and exquisite wall hangings. The definition of quilts is that they are made from three layers of material, the top and bottom pieces of material sandwiching the wadding in the middle. The first few quilts she showed members Maggie had quilted all of them by hand, however now she takes them to be mechanically quilted, making the backs of the quilts as pretty as the fronts. She designs her own work and chooses different techniques for each one. The larger quilts had taken her two to three years to complete and all the quilts are washable. It was a delight to see so many pieces of wonderful work.
Next month on Wednesday October 11th at 7.30pm at Milwich Village Hall, Diane Scott will be joining us for a Flower Demonstration featuring Autumn Flowers. This will be an Open Meeting and there will be a Sales Table. Friends and family will be very welcome
