10th July – Footpath 20 from The Allways

Another warm sunny morning on Sunday 10th July saw members of the team working close to the Village. The first stile on the footpath leading off The Allways was in a terrible condition although the tractor steps made it a bit easier to navigate! Some hard work, whilst being attacked by flies, resulted in a new stile and fencing in the lower corner of the field.

At the same time other members of the team fought with very hard ground to replace the steps on the “very high” stile at the top of the field. The cows supervised their actions intently. A second step was added to the next stile to make life easier for everyone as the ground sloped away from this stile.

This time the “bright spark” did not suggest any more work and we revived ourselves in The Green Man and were still in time to see the British Grand Prix!
