Broadband Survey

Broadband Facilities – Is your connection speed too slow?

Following the publishing of the Parish Plan a Broadband Working Group was established by the Parish Council. This group established that broadband speeds measured in the Milwich village were extremely variable butthat speeds in excess of 5Mb could be achieved. It was further established that many of the problems experienced by householders were due to problems within the property. Case studies showed that speeds could often be increased with minimal work. One householder increased from 0.7Mb to more than 3Mb and another from 1Mb to in excess of 4.5Mb without any external wiring issues being addressed by BT.

The Broadband Group, now under the chairmanship of Cllr. Terry Stevens has establisher that the speeds in places like Coton and Fradswell are very low. We are asking as many residents as possible that use broadband to participate in the survey below.

The more data we obtain the better evidence we will have to present to the system provider. £7.5millionpounds has been allocated to Staffordshire for Broadband improvements. We need to get a share of this for the Hilderstone and Field exchanges so that we can all benefit from modern technology. Please take part in this survey now!

All Broadband Speed testers vary so we have selected one for all to use so that we get consistent results. A recent test run in Milwich Village gave Download Speed of 4926kbps and Upload Speed of 378kbps run at 11.15am.

To measure your Broadband Speed run the test at http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/ and then supply the following information by e-mail to info@milwich.com:

Your Name (Optional)
